LOS ANGELES -- Behind another strong start from Kenta Maeda and a two-run home run by Joc Pederson, the Dodgers defeated the San Francisco Giants, 3-1, on Sunday night in the rubber match of the teams’ three-game weekend series at Dodger Stadium.
Maeda, a rookie from Japan, gave up one run over seven innings, becoming only the third Dodgers pitcher since 1913 to have a quality start in his first three major-league games.
The Dodgers improved their record to 8-5 and took sole possession of first place in the National League west division after the first two weeks of the season.
