Final: Dodgers 6, Diamondbacks 3

LOS ANGELES — What an inning.

Don Mattingly removed Clayton Kershaw midway through the fifth Thursday afternoon at Dodger Stadium, and Kershaw was irate. He had given up three runs, but he had thrown only 80 pitches, and he had struck out nine and walked one.

He could not be angry very long. The man who pinch-hit for him, Austin Barnes, flew out, but the next four Dodgers reached base, cutting the Arizona Diamondbacks' lead to 3-2. And then light-hitting outfielder Chris Heisey connected on the unlikeliest of grand slams, and teammates were rushing over to Kershaw to hug him in the dugout.
