Former Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager will undergo a season-ending surgery on Friday to treat a sports hernia on the right side of his hip. Dallas Morning News’ Evan Grant shared the news via X.
The Texas Rangers placed Seager on the 10-day injured list on Sept. 4 for right hip discomfort. However, the five-time MLB All-Star has not appeared in a game since the Rangers’ 8-4 loss against the Yankees. Across four at-bats in his final game of the season, Seager recorded two hits and two strikeouts.
This is the second time Seager will have this type of surgery within the year.
