The Arizona Diamondbacks announced Sunday they designated veteran reliever and former Los Angeles Dodger Dylan Floro for assignment.
The veteran right-hander cleared waivers and was released on Tuesday. The move cleared a spot on the Diamondbacks’ roster for left-hander Blake Walston, who was recalled from Triple-A.
Floro, a trade deadline acquisition, signed a one-year deal with the Washington Nationals during the offseason but was traded to the Diamondbacks in a last-minute deal just before this year’s July 30 deadline, with first baseman Andres Chaparro heading to Washington in return.
When the trade happened, Floro was in Arizona as the Nationals were playing the Diamondbacks.
