Ethier on crutches, 'not worried yet' about Opening Day

PHOENIX -- Andre Ethier hobbled into the Dodgers' clubhouse on crutches Saturday morning, his bruised right shin wrapped and painful, but fortunately not broken.

X-rays were negative after Ethier fouled a pitch off the leg, the ball striking the small unprotected part between his knee guard and plastic protective guard he wears underneath the sock.

The club lists Ethier as day to day, with Opening Day a little more than two weeks away. He is projected as the starting left fielder and is hitting .435 in 23 at-bats this spring.

"My leg is littered with scars and marks doing that over the years," said Ethier.
