In some ways, Edwin Rios’s time on the Dodgers wasn’t all that long or eventful. He had just 291 career plate appearances with the big-league club, with a .219 batting average and a 109 OPS+. On the other hand, he was drafted by LA nearly eight years ago, he played with Los Angeles in four straight seasons, and he hit two home runs in the 2020 NLCS on the way to earning himself a World Series ring.
His time with the Dodgers ended in November when the team decided to non-tender him, and that ending became official on Friday when he signed with the Cubs.
