LOS ANGELES – The high-stakes drama of last season’s postseason division series has long since passed, the champagne scrubbed from the visitor’s clubhouse and the lingering tensions seemingly put at ease, but the New York Mets again dealt the Dodgers a forceful blow in their home ballpark.
As the teams met for the first time since last October’s five-game playoff series, the Dodgers fell short again, 4-2.
The Mets, who eventually advanced to the World Series, eliminated the Dodgers 207 days earlier at Dodger Stadium on a go-ahead solo home run by Daniel Murphy.
On Monday night, the baseballs again jumped off the their bats and carried into the outfield bleachers.
