The return of Dodgers ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto is creeping up. Dodger manager Dave Roberts said on Thursday that Yamamoto has been working with plyo ball and could resume throwing by “late next week” if all goes well.

The 25-year-old ace has been making progress in his rehab. Yamamoto was described as pain-free earlier this week, and although he is progressing tremendously, the Dodgers will not put him out on the mound until late July/early Aug.
Yamamoto was diagnosed with a right rotator cuff strain after only being able to pitch two innings on June 15 against the Kansas City Royals.
