Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig will not be disciplined by Major League Baseball under the sport’s new domestic violence policy.
The league found no evidence to substantiate the claim that Puig hit his sister during a Thanksgiving Eve bar fight in Miami.
As a result, the league had no grounds to consider a suspension or any of the other potential punishments that are authorized under the policy, according to a person familiar with the matter but not authorized to discuss it in advance of an announcement. Players can be required to submit to counseling, for instance, but any discipline beyond a suspension is not publicly announced.
