GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Dodgers pitcher Alex Wood missed a second day of workouts on Friday with an ankle sprain and underwent X-rays, while rookie Walker Buehler returned to action after undergoing medical tests on Thursday.
Wood, who was injured on Thursday while warming up for a scheduled bullpen session, said after the injury he planned to throw on Friday. But manager Dave Roberts said that plan was scrapped in lieu of the tests.
The injury is to Wood's right ankle. He said it was unrelated to a bad bruise in roughly the same area that he pitched through after being traded to the Dodgers in 2015.
