SAN FRANCISCO -- The Dodgers won their second challenge in as many days in the second inning of Thursday's game against the Giants, resulting in an additional Dodgers run.
Replays showed that Giants second baseman Joe Panik came off the bag early after taking a throw from shortstop Brandon Crawford on what originally was called an inning-ending double-play grounder by Alex Wood with the bases loaded.
Instead, with baserunner Austin Barnes safe, a run scored on the 6-4-3 fielder's choice, giving the Dodgers a 2-0 lead. This is the first year that the so-called "neighborhood play" is reviewable.
