It was a scary moment for Dodgers and Rangers fans a few weeks ago when Willie Calhoun went down. The power-hitting prospect took a 95 mph fastball from Julio Urias to the chin, and it looked very bad. Calhoun remained down for a while before being carted off of the field to go to a nearby hospital.
But the good news is that Calhoun appears to be recovering well. In fact, he thinks he will be ready to go when the season starts, whenever that may be. The 25-year-old outfielder had a plate inserted to stabilize his jaw, but that doesn’t seem to be stopping him from getting back to baseball whenever he is allowed to.
