After finishing up the final series of the regular season on the road in San Francisco this weekend, the Dodgers will have four full days to strategize and prepare before opening the 2016 postseason on Friday, October 7 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
The club’s fate was sealed with a 3-0 loss at the hands of the Giants on Saturday. Southpaw starter Ty Blach gave the Dodgers fits all afternoon, surrendering only three hits and one walk in eight shutout innings of work. Despite being tagged with the loss, resident ace Clayton Kershaw appeared as if he was untouchable until outfielder Angel Pagan opened the scoring in the bottom of the fifth frame with a solo home run into the left field stands.
