The Los Angeles Dodgers ended up getting reliever Michael Kopech from the Chicago White Sox as part of a three-team trade involving the St. Louis Cardinals. However, they were reportedly a finalist for another reliever who ended up signing with a division rival.
Tanner Scott was traded to the San Diego Padres from the Miami Marlins and according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the Dodgers were there at the end — which “may have triggered the Padres to do more.”
Scott was an All-Star in 2024 for the first time in his career.
