The Dodgers were hoping for a bounceback start from Walker Buehler on Saturday. Following 4 starts where he got touched up for a total of 13 earned runs, getting back on track against a very good Mets team would have been ideal.
Instead, Buehler got tagged hard by New York’s offense. He gave up a solo shot to Francisco Lindor in the 1st inning and then got hit hard in the 3rd. A very long Pete Alonso homerun ended his night and the Dodgers had to go to the bullpen.
Unfortunately, that came after the Dodgers offense put up 4 runs for Buehler.
