NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. – While Kenley Jansen and Aroldis Chapman ponder, the Dodgers – and several other teams – are stuck in limbo.
As Dodgers general manager Farhan Zaidi detailed an uneventful third day of the winter meetings on Wednesday, he indicated the premium closers are holding up the market.
“We’re involved in a few markets where some dominoes need to start falling, and frankly I think other people are in the same position where they’re waiting to see what we do and that might guide them in other directions,” Zaidi said.
Two prominent closers have gone off the board, with Mark Melancon agreeing with the San Francisco Giants and Wade Davis going to the Chicago Cubs in a trade.
