The Dodgers took the first game of the series with the Mets, winning a nail-biter, 4-3, last night when starter Andrew Heaney went just five innings and the Dodgers had only four relievers available. Newly rostered Heath Hembree and Jake Reed got the win and the save, respectively.
Game two of the series will be the biggest test the Dodgers have face in a while, with Jacob deGrom taking the hill for New York. DeGrom is 3-1 with a 2.15 ERA in five starts this year, having spent the first four months of the season on the injured list.
