The Los Angeles Dodgers took a second consecutive game against the St. Louis Cardinals and now are in position to earn a series win with another victory on Wednesday.
Recently recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City, Mitch White makes his fourth start and 19th overall big league appearance of the season. He was supposed to serve as the bulk pitcher on Tuesday, but the Dodgers went in another direction as Evan Phillips followed Corey Knebel.
“We had some options, obviously, with our roster, and we just felt we can start him [Wednesday],” manager Dave Roberts said of the team’s thought process in starting White.
