Offense was at a premium for the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants through much of Wednesday’s game at AT&T Park. Alex Wood struck out four of the first six batters faced, and didn’t allow a hit until Drew Stubbs’ leadoff single in the bottom of the sixth.
To that point, Wood had allowed just one baserunner — Brandon Belt on a one-out walk in the fourth inning. While he was keeping the Giants in check, Johnny Cueto was similarly stymying Dodger hitters.
Cueto did allow back-to-back singles to Corey Seager and Justin Turner in the first, but got out of the inning unscathed.
