Dodgers turned base stealing from weakness into strength

Brett Anderson had an interesting reaction the first time he got back on a mound after his Tommy John surgery in 2011: “I’d been pitching with pain for so long, once I started playing catch and there wasn’t anything I was like, what is this? How am I supposed to pitch like everything feels good? I don’t know what’s happening. This is weird.”

SAN DIEGO >> The Dodgers’ recent success stealing bases makes for nice statistics. An unexpected streak of 13 steals in 13 attempts entering Saturday’s game against the Padres means the Dodgers are no longer last in baseball in stolen bases or stolen-base success rate.
