Trea Turner hasn’t been with the Dodgers long, but it seems like at least once a game, he’s causing havoc on the base paths with his superb speed. He might have a strike out, a groundout, but you know he’s going to get on base because, that’s just what happens.
Dodgers fans’ eyes do not deceive them. Entering yesterday’s matinee against the Detroit Tigers, Turner had reached base safely in 39 straight games. He was unable to stretch it to 40.
For the first time in a long time, Turner did not get on base. The Dodgers shortstop went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in the Dodgers 6-3 win.
