The Dodgers had some tough decisions to make during this Spring camp. With so many new names being added in, you knew that there were going to be some moves that fans didn’t love. That includes losing players that have been there for a while, and we lost one this week.
Earlier last week, the Dodgers designated Matt Beaty for assignment. The need for right-handed bench bats outweighed the need for a bat like Beaty, who does hit for average and is phenomenal with putting the bat on the ball every at-bat.
But with the DFA, the Dodgers either needed to trade him or place him on waivers.
