Pitching in front of a national audience on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball, Hyun-Jin Ryu turned in a solid outing as he matched Giants ace Madison Bumgarner. Each went seven scoreless innings, while allowing five hits, issuing one walk and striking out seven apiece.
The Giants were first to get a run on the board, with Connor Gillaspie hitting a solo home run off Josh Fields in the top of the eighth.
