The Dodgers currently have 9 different numbers retired with the organization. That includes names like Tommy Lasorda (#2), Don Sutton (#20), and Sandy Koufax (#32) just to name a few. But the team announced earlier today that another name would be joining their ranks in the left field on the club level.
Gil Hodges was a part of the Dodgers as a player from 1943 all the way through 1961. He missed 2 seasons in the 1940s serving in World War II. He would return to the team in 1947 and went on to win 2 championships, once with Brooklyn and once in Los Angeles.
