LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers will host the 2020 MLB All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium, Commissioner Rob Manfred announced on Wednesday.
Manfred was joined by club officials and local politicians for the announcement at a news conference held in center field of the stadium that last hosted the Midsummer Classic in 1980. The Dodgers also hosted one of two All-Star Games in 1959 at Memorial Coliseum and in 1949 at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn.
"It's been a long time," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on Tuesday. "So for Major League Baseball and the city of Los Angeles to come together and get it here in 2020, I think it's a thrill not only for the Dodgers but for the great fan base of Los Angeles.
