Saying goodbye to a player that has been a part of your organization for over 10 years is never easy. That is certainly the case with the Dodgers and Joc Pederson this week. After the left-handed bomber officially signed a deal with the Cubs this offseason, he posted an emotional goodbye to the city of Los Angeles on Friday.
The Dodgers followed that goodbye with one of their own. The team drafted Joc out of Palo Alto High School way back in 2010, and he almost didn’t sign. Pederson was enrolled in USC and ready to start playing with their baseball team when LA called and upped their offer to him.
