Dodgers stay hot, run away from Pirates

LOS ANGELES >> Dave Roberts did not tell Alex Wood until Sunday that he would be starting Monday’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Maybe Roberts should keep Wood in suspense more often.

Wood didn’t allow a hit until the fourth inning of the Dodgers’ 12-1 win. He struck out 11 batters in five shutout innings and left with a 10-0 lead.

Chris Taylor and Yasiel Puig hit home runs in front of an announced crowd of 37,314 at Dodger Stadium. Taylor went 3 for 4 with a grand slam, Joc Pederson went 3 for 5, and three other Dodgers had two hits apiece.
