Dodgers starting Clayton Kershaw in NLDS Game 4 today

The Dodgers will send ace Clayton Kershaw to the mound for Game 4 of the National League Division Series on Tuesday in an effort to prolong their postseason against the Washington Nationals.

The Dodgers, down 2-1 in the best-of-five series, were deciding between their star left-hander and Julio Urias, their 20-year-old southpaw prospect.

The Nationals are countering with rookie right-hander Joe Ross (7-5, 3.43 ERA), which would save ace Max Scherzer in case of a Game 5 in Washington.

Game 4 starts at 2 p.m. (Fox Sports 1) at Dodger Stadium.

Kershaw (12-4, 1.69 ERA) will be pitching on three days’ rest, but has pitched only six times after suffering a herniated disc in his back in late June.
