Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani hit a three-run home run in the All-Star Game on Tuesday, accounting for all of the National League’s runs in a 5-3 loss.
Ohtani’s three run blast in the third inning against Boston Red Sox pitcher Tanner Houck gave the NL a short-lived 3-0 lead. The AL got all three runs back in the bottom of the inning.
A two-run home run by Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran against Cincinnati Reds pitcher Hunter Greene was the difference in the game.
Ohtani finished 1 for 2 with a walk. Will Smith also singled in the sixth inning against Oakland A’s pitcher Mason Miller, and finished 1 for 2.
