Despite rainy weather throughout the Valley of the Sun on Saturday morning, the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants remain scheduled to play their Cactus League opener. However, first pitch at Scottsdale Stadium has been pushed back to 2:15 p.m. PT.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts voiced some concern over the playing conditions, though noted the decision lies with the Giants. Even with Roberts’ worry, the Dodgers’ lineup features multiple regulars, including reigning National League MVP Cody Bellinger.
However, he is not joined in the outfield by 2018 American League MVP Mookie Betts. The newcomer instead is slated to make his Dodgers debut Sunday against the Chicago Cubs.
