The Dodgers will likely do the heavy lifting required to add depth to their depleted pitching staff between now and next Tuesday’s trade deadline.
In the meantime, the team’s front office is continuing to scour the waiver wire in search of help at the minor league levels — which have themselves been depleted to fill out the major league staff amid injuries to Clayton Kershaw, Tyler Glasnow, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Walker Buehler, and relievers Brusdar Graterol, Ryan Brasier and Michael Grove.
Enter Jordan Lyles. The 33-year-old right-hander was recently released by the Kansas City Royals on Saturday. Now, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, Lyles will sign a minor league contract with the Dodgers.
