The Los Angeles Dodgers announced the signing of Shane Greene and added him to their active roster prior to Friday’s game against the New York Mets.
Evan Phillips was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right quad strain, and Conner Greene was designated for assignment in order to make room for the Dodgers’ new arrival on their 40-man roster.
Shane Greene joins the club three days after it was reported he was nearing an agreement with L.A. The right-hander was designated for assignment by the Atlanta Braves last week and subsequently released.
Despite successful campaigns in 2019 and 2020, Greene remained a free agent until re-signing with Atlanta on a one-year deal this past May.
