The MLB draft might be over, but that doesn’t mean the Dodgers aren’t still looking at names to pick up. They can still sign the undrafted players to free-agent deals if they see something that they like. And from what it sounds like, they have found one of those guys.
The Dodgers reportedly scooped up free agent catcher Griffin Lockwood-Powell out of Central Michigan University. Those taken outside of the draft are only allotted a maximum bonus of $20,000. Lockwood-Powell put up some pretty good numbers playing for Division 1 CMU across his 4 years there.
