With an OBP nearing .375, Rollins was supposed to supply the team a leadoff hitter. He was supposed to become the table setter for what promised to be a run-producing unit. He was supposed to manufacture scoring opportunities.
However, it didn’t quite work out that way, as Rollins stumbled out of the gate. Fortunately, the Dodgers offense did not follow in Rollins' footsteps. Rookie prospect Joc Pederson performed so well that he was eventually elevated into the No. 1 spot in the lineup, taking over for Rollins.
Although the offense hasn't quite been there, Rollins' defense came as advertised.
