Shohei Ohtani stole the spotlight on Wednesday in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 6-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles at Dodger Stadium.
It was already his bobblehead night. After his dog, Decoy, delivered the first pitch, Ohtani had to step up during the game to earn back the attention.
Dekopin, also known as Decoy, earned the first ovation of the night when he picked up a ball in his mouth and ran to his owner who was waiting for him at home plate.
“I heard that Decoy was going to throw the first pitch and — I’m impressed that the dog was already that trained,” manager Dave Roberts said after the game.
