LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers made their first wave of September additions on Friday before their weekend series against the Padres at Dodger Stadium, activating pitchers Louis Coleman and Josh Ravin from the disabled list and recalling Austin Barnes and Josh Fields from Triple-A Oklahoma City, in addition to the previously-reported recall of Yasiel Puig.
Barnes is the third catcher on the 40-man roster along with Yasmani Grandal and Carlos Ruiz, and this is his fourth stint with the major league team this season. Barnes is 3-for-23 (.130) with a double and three walks in 14 games with the Dodgers this season, including three starts at catcher and two at second base.
