As the MLB trade deadline gets closer and closer, it remains uncertain what the Chicago Cubs will do. They could decide to be buyers and make a push for the postseason. Or they could go the selling route and get some future assets for their free agents coming up.
Their biggest prize, if they choose to become sellers, will be starting pitcher Marcus Stroman. Stroman is in the midst of a great season and he could likely net the Cubs some strong pieces moving forward. He is likely the top starting pitcher that would be available unless the Angels put Shohei Ohtani on the table.
