The Dodgers are in the market for an infielder, and one of the intriguing names left on the market is Brandon Drury, who split 2022 between the Reds and the Padres. Based on his 2022 season, Drury should be in high demand. The problem is, his track record of being a good hitter is very, very short.
In the first six seasons of his career, Drury posted a .707 OPS (83 OPS+), including a paltry .296 on-base percentage. He hit well in very limited duty with the 2021 Mets (111 OPS+ in 88 plate appearances) before really breaking out in 2022 (122 OPS+, 568 PA), although he was quite a bit better with the Reds than he was after being traded to the Padres.
