In the days leading up to Major League Baseball’s deadline for an initial player pool to be submitted, Los Angeles Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said the club would not immediately fill all 60 available slots.
“Our thought process in putting together the 60-man is trying to balance whether or not this might be the only reps some of our prospects get this year,” he said. “There’s just a lot that’s up in the air.”
The Dodgers went on to announce a player pool that was comprised of 51 players. It included all members of the 40-man roster and some of the organization’s top prospects.
