After several weeks of speculation over how Major League Baseball would look to stage a 2020 regular season, team owners reached an agreement last week to move forward with a plan that called for an estimated 82 games to be played at home stadiums.
The next step was presenting the proposal to the Players Association, who must approve any deal in order for a season to be played. Justin Turner, who is the Los Angeles Dodgers’ union representative, recently said the matter boils down to an entirely new collective bargaining agreement being written for 2020.
One of the issues the league and MLBPA are at odds over is economics.
