When the Dodgers brought Yoshi Tsutsugo over to Los Angeles, there was not a clear path for him. The only real role that anyone envisioned him in was a placeholder while some of their guys got healthy. And when they did get healthy, Tsutsugo hit the injured list.
The Dodgers placed Tsutsugo on the injured list way back on June 9th with a right calf strain. He did not start his rehab assignment with the Oklahoma City team until June 17th. He played in 15 games there before the decision was made.
The rules for rehab assignments allow for position players to stay on rehab assignments for a maximum of 20 days.
