We knew the answer was coming — we just didn’t know it would be so quick or so huge. Less than 12 hours after the Giants signed Carlos Correa to a 13-year contract, the Dodgers have acquired a pitcher who hasn’t allowed a run in over a year.
Los Angeles got J.P. Feyereisen from the Rays for minor-league pitcher Jeff Belge. Feyereisen posted a 0.00 ERA in 24.1 innings in 2022 before being shut down in early June with a shoulder injury. That injury required surgery and is expected to keep him out most of 2023, but the righty has three years of team control left after 2023, so this is a move for the long-term.
