The Dodgers officially lose lefty reliever Caleb Ferguson to the paternity leave list as he gets set to welcome his first child. To take his spot on the roster, LA has recalled reliever Justin Bruihl.
The paternity move was expected for Ferguson — so expected that he actually wasn’t even with the team on Monday in Milwaukee as he flew back home to Los Angeles. After pitching two straight days in San Diego, he wouldn’t have been available anyway.
Ferguson has been lights out for the Dodgers this season, posting a 1.26 ERA over 15 appearances.
