The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled Brusdar Graterol and Darien Nuñez, optioned Garrett Cleavinger to Triple-A Oklahoma City and placed Max Muncy on the paternity list. Muncy has accompanied his wife Kellie in Arizona for the birth of their daughter this week.
Paternity leave requires a player to miss at least that day’s game but no more than three days. As such, the Dodgers are planning to be without Muncy for the weekend series against the Colorado Rockies before joining the team next week for a rematch with the San Francisco Giants.
The brief time off may also allow for Muncy to further recover from any residual effects of being hit by a pitch in his right shoulder blade that led to an early exit.
