Ross Stripling is going to be insufferable at his college reunion.
Matched up against his former Texas A&M teammate, Cardinals right-hander Michael Wacha, Stripling not only outpitched his friend to get his first major-league win but he also collected his first major-league hit off Wacha as the Dodgers beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 8-4, Friday night.
Stripling was winless in his first seven big-league starts – but he was in good company. It was the longest drought by a Dodger starter to start his MLB career since Clayton Kershaw needed 10 starts before getting his first win as a rookie in 2008.
