Ross Stripling is going to be insufferable at his college reunion.
Matched up against his former Texas A&M teammate, Cardinals right-hander Michael Wacha, Stripling not only outpitched his friend to get his first major-league win but he also collected his first major-league hit off Wacha as the Dodgers beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 8-4, Friday night.
“It wasn’t necessarily my sharpest game by any means,” Stripling said. “I don’t think me and Wacha will look back and think this was the best game either of us pitched – but it was a lot of fun. To get my first hit off of him is kind of funny.
