Ryan Pepiot was ready to be on top of the world for Dodgers’ opening day on Thursday. But reality sunk in. A nagging oblique injury just wasn’t getting better and it became apparent that he’d need to open the season on the injured list.
Before yesterday’s 8-2 victory over the Diamondbacks, Pepiot spoke with reporters about his disappointment over the news.
“The past couple weeks there’s just been a little lingering oblique,” he said. “I tried to throw through it the other day, thought it would be fine. After the first inning, I just felt it even more.
