Miguel Rojas was the starting shortstop for the Marlins the last five years or so, but now that he’s come back to the Dodgers, he finds himself in more of a utility infielder role. You might expect the 34-year-old veteran to be upset about that change, but instead, Rojas has taken the team approach of trying to help the guys starting in front of him get better.
Perhaps the best example is rookie Miguel Vargas, who reached out to Rojas shortly after the trade went down in January. The two Miguels, who were both based in the Miami area, got together at Nova Southeastern University near Fort Lauderdale to work on their defense together.
