Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher River Ryan earned his first career win on Sunday, as he led the Dodgers to a 6-2 road win over the Houston Astros. Making just his second career start, Ryan gave up two hits, one earned run, and three walks across 5.2 innings with eight strikeouts.
Ryan was controversially pulled from the game after 5.2 innings, a move that many fans were unhappy with. Manager Dave Roberts explained after the game that Ryan had never thrown that many pitches in a game, and they did not want to wear him out.
