This season has not been one to remember for Kenley Jansen. Sure, he was an All-Star. And yes, he has pitched well by the standards of the league and in comparison to another pitcher’s number this year. But, by Kenley’s standards, his inconsistencies and unreliability have been well below par for a closer that is one of the best in the game. On Saturday, those struggles continued when Kenley gave up a home run in the ninth inning to Austin Hedges. In his last three appearances, Kenley has blown the save.
